Gem In Eke!
We had such a great evening at this cosy little pub. Our car broke down in Eketahuna on a Monday evening. The mechanic called the manager of this pub and he came down (on his day off) and got us a room for the night. This kind of old world hospitality speaks volumes. The room was clean and warm, and the guest lounge was cosy with a fireplace and kitchenette. In spite of the Circumstances, we had a lovely evening.

The Best Stop I Ever Made in Eketahuna
Called into Eketahuna Inn and Restaurant for lunch today. So glad we did, an amazing range on the menu and very good prices. Helpful friendly staff got us to a great table quickly with very good service. I got the Hawiian Chicken burger n chips while the wife had a seafood platter. Very big, well presented meals that were hot and tasty. I wanted to try their deserts which also looked amazing, but was to full on the main meal. We will have to go back again. I was impressed by theblayout of everything and the place is a lot bigger than it looks from the road. They also have well priced accomodation on site for a weary traveller .

Best Kept Secret in the North Island!
Driving from Hawkes Bay to Wellington, stopped for a break and bite to eat early evening. Great menu options from lite snacks to full dinner. Opted for fish & chips bar meal .... stunning food, fish was fabulous and the meal was huge. Took half of it home with us! Best of all the service was great, friendly and quick! Don't let the outside look fool you, inside is a character bar which is clean, tidy and has lovely outdoor area at the back. Recommend to all !!!
